well, this weekend was fucking awesome.
friday night we went to a concert in framingham. it was herdman hills mangsen, who are folk music goddesses. SERIOUSLY. because their harmonizing is incredible, and they have the voices of angels. AND, their songs are absolutely hilarious. cindy mangsen did a solo one about (this is a true story, btw) a friend of hers whose cat got his head stuck in the garbage disposal. ::grin:: not to mention that the main singer of the song they performed as their second encore forgot half the words, and she kept on screwing up and screwing the OTHER two up, and everyone was laughing hysterically. ^^
THEN.
saturday morning we went to the auburn mall with nen-nen, who we haven't seen since like...april. or some outrageously long ago date that I can't remember. ^^; but it was SO much fun. we spent about 45 minutes in waldens books, then went to hot topic. let's see...from there we wandered around, stopping in random clothing stores 'cause they were "shiny" (as nen-nen put it, 'cause she's so waffleable ^^), and then ate lunch at the food court, where we shared a 3 combo meal from master wok. ^^ then we went BACK to hot topic, and just looked around. ^^
let's see...I got "furuba" 1 (nen-nen's christmas gift for me) and 2. from hottopic I got a wicked kawaii chibi inuyasha keychain (that the stupid website doesn't show, so I can't give you a pic of it x.x).
THEN we drove to the blackstone valley shopping center 'cause we wan't to visit julie at work. we stopped first at strawberries, where I got zeromancer's eurotrash album. THEN we stopped in this little kids' clothing place ('cause nen-nen wanted to ^^;), where I got this totally SHPIFFEH scarf. it's got rotating bands of light pink, beige, brown, white, darker pink, and salmon all laced through with silver thread, and it's wicked comfy and warm. MAH SCARF IS WICKED PISSAH, FOO! (...OO; WHOA.) THEN (::cough:: ::tries to ignore OOC-ness of past statement::) we went to barnes & noble to look for julie, but instead ended up spending like...45 minutes talking to this random kid and his mum in the manga section. ^^ it was wicked fun! we gave him our AIM names so that we could talk later. (...hm. he still hasn't IMed us. ponder...) after we made our purchases (which, for me, was "wish" 1 by CLAMP and "plot & structure" by james scott bell for MAH WRAHTIN'), we actually went home. the funny thing, though, is that julie was behind the register, so we waited until she was done with her customer before paying for our stuff. ^^ we had to tell like five people to go ahead of us, and everyone was just looking at us like we were lunatics. ::grin:: it was great.
so anyhoo.
YESTERDAY (being sunday), we went out to the greendale mall with nen-nen. ^.^ her mum drove us this time, 'cause she wanted to do some shopping, too, but that was all right... hm. ANYHOO. we went straight to waldens, and spent probably an hour in there debating about what manga we were going to get. I got "model" 2, "furuba" 3 (trying to catch up, 'cause until this point I had volumes 4, 6, and 8 --;), "deathnote" 1, and "immortal rain" 1. bought rosie "kamikaze kaitou jeanne", which she has been waiting for for YEARS, and I bought nen-nen her stuff (using her money of course) 'cause a coupla them were for adults, just incase they carded us. ^^ seeing as I'm 18 an' all, and have ID now. (thanks to MAH PERMIT!)
THEN we went to hottopic, where nen-nen got a furuba t-shirt (of tohru-chan, who is one of the few female anime main characters that I actually LIKE, let alone LOVE ^^;), I got a sesshie keychain (check out the zoom version). after that we briefly stopped in at DSW's, and I bought a wicked pissah pair of kangaROOS. ^^
then we went home, but we listened to sarah brightman in the car so it was all right. ^^
