this layout features Yagami Raito (Light) and L (a.k.a. Ryuugi and Ryuuzaki, neither of which are his real name as far as we're aware of), from Takeshi Obata (creator of Hikaru no Go) and Tsugumi Ohba's Deathnote. gradient made by me, textures default. fonts used are Porcelain, Quake, Evanescence (yes, the font used by the band; it's in the lyrics), Anything You Want, and Redensek. lyrics from the song "imagine", written by John Lennon and covered (at least the version I was listening to while making the layout) by A Perfect Circle.

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...
Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one."

been a while. OO; I never had time. gomen!
anyhoo.
sunday was fucking AWESOME. I kept forgetting to mention it (...not QUITE sure how, but whatever), but our friend tara took rosie and I to the my chemical romance concert in connecticut. it was, typically, a stand-up rock concert. at first it wasn't too great, 'cause the first group who came on was a little too heavy metal-y for us (regee and the full effect or something like that), and we were getting squished and shoved around constantly and tara could't see ('cause she's so short ::grin::) and it finally got to the point where we COULD NOT MOVE, people were STILL trying to get by us, and we could barely even breathe, so tara's dad forced our way through the crowd. the next band, the alkaline trio, were all right, but after the first couple of songs the bass just got TOO much. we sat down on the floor for the rest of their performance, AWAY from the crowd, and simply let ourselves grow deaf. I followed tara's dad's example and used a few chunks of napkin as earplugs so my eardrums didn't die before MCR came on, and as such I could actually HEAR when they did.
so.
put simply, the beginning sucked.
but when MCR came on... no words can describe how FUCKING AWESOME it was. ::spaz:: we spent the remaining hour and a half screaming and screaming the lyrics and jumping and punk "dancing" and just plain screaming whatever gerard told us to. it fucking great. I was sweating within ten minutes. ^^; but they are INCREDIBLE in concert, and gee was so sexily sweaty and gross, and mikey actually managed to keep the bass at a reasonable level, and gee was SHAKING HIS ASS. OO it was awesome as all fuck. they played pretty much the entire "three cheers" and a little of "bullets" (as we have taken to calling them, 'cause the names are so fucking long), a misfits cover and, actually, a song of the album they're releasing in march (I think) of 2006.
let me sum it up:
we were hoarse (still am, actually), in pain, sweaty, and exhausted.
but mother FUCKING hell it was worth it!
onto other matters, now. ^^
guess what?!
I've started my OFFICIAL driving lessons! I had my first one on monday. (mommalus sprung it on me out of nowhere, because she was afraid I would panic over it all weekend) and I'm doing pretty well, actually. I must admit that on the first class it took the guy five minutes to convince me to actually DRIVE, and another 9 or 10 times around the building to get me out on the road, but once I was out there I was fine. I was cruisin' along at 40 an doin' fine. ^^ unfortunately, I have the tendency to drift off to the right. however, judging by my performance today, I have apparently already started to get over that. today was even better, actually. we drove around the parking lot a couple of times to get used to the car (it was a different one), and then drove off into the road. by the end, I was going around turns a LOT more smoothly, taking turns better, did ONE hill start (only jerked a little before settling), backed up straight a couple of times, did two three point turns, and parked going up and down a hill.
I got back JUST as alex was walking in, which was nice. ^^ I hung out in mommalus' office until he left, then slowly got back to work. ::sigh:: he's still basically ignoring me, though.
hm...
the gallery opening was last night, and it did REALLY well. we sold a whole bunch of stuff, and the crowd of people was HUGE. alex showed up about half an hour into it and I sorta talked to him for a LITTLE (VERY little) while while (that's deliberate, btw) he talked to mom, but otherwise he totally ignored me. janet, who works there part-time, showed up with her daughter, who's probably a little younger than me. we hit it off pretty well, she being a freak of some sort also. ^^ she was very jealous when she saw the MCR shirt (which actually happened to be rosie's, although I DO own my own) I was wearing and heard that I'd gone to a concert. the patti, who teaches weaving, showed up with three of her daughters, and we spent a good amount of time discussing fantasy books. ^^ that was fun. and, of course, I watched alex throughout most of the evening. I'm a little surprised, though, 'cause he didn't even say goodbye to mommalus... Oo; hm. weird.
ANYhoo.
hm...
I think that's it.
