this layout features Yagami Raito (Light) and L (a.k.a. Ryuugi and Ryuuzaki, neither of which are his real name as far as we're aware of), from Takeshi Obata (creator of Hikaru no Go) and Tsugumi Ohba's Deathnote. gradient made by me, textures default. fonts used are Porcelain, Quake, Evanescence (yes, the font used by the band; it's in the lyrics), Anything You Want, and Redensek. lyrics from the song "imagine", written by John Lennon and covered (at least the version I was listening to while making the layout) by A Perfect Circle.

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...
Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one."

::sing-song:: I got my permit! I got my permit! ::flashes the peace sign::
...be greatly frightened, for I shall soon be DRIVING! ::cue background music:: ::evil maniacal laughter::
...sorry, I'm a little hyper.
ANYHOO.
but you wanna know what?
I was supposed to get my permit on FRIDAY. yeah. apparently, being 18, I now need FOUR forms of ID. is my social security card and birth certificate good enough? NOOOOOOOO! why WOULD it be? I also need proof of address, and proof of signature. the proof of address is easy enough, all I had to do was show a couple items of mail I had received. but my proof of signature? I needed a LICENSE. yeah...um, I was going for my PERMIT. I don't HAVE a license yet! you wanna know the WORST thing? we waited for two fucking hours for them to tell us this. two whole hours to be told that I couldn't take the test.
and we went back today, with a slip that said we wouldn't have to wait. well, we didn't. but we WERE told that the slip generally applies to the SAME DAY, and that we would have to ASK if it applied to us. fortunately, they said it did. as for my proof of signature, I registered to vote this morning and used the registration slip for it. well, we were originally told we couldn't use it, that they had stopped accepting them a couple of years ago. thankfully, after a great amount of (deliberate) whining on my mother's part, about how she had taken an hour off of work this morning for me to register, the guy FINALLY said he could accept it. so I got my permit after taking the test.
::sigh::
I think that's it...
